The largest lake in Ethiopia, a trip to the
City of Bahar Dar and Lake Tana is recommended to all ancient history fans. A boat trip on this glorious lake, known as the
jewel of Ethiopia, will allow visitors access to the more than 30 islands, many inhabited, and 12 monastaries . Lake Tana
is known for its flotilla of birds and hippo colonies.
3 days/2 nights by air: 4 days minimum by road.

LANGANO-ABYATA 2 Day Tour
Day 1: Drive
south of Addis into the Rift Valley and at 160km away you will reach the town of Ziway where you will visit the Lake under
the same name. Here you will be able to see many water birds; some of them are endemic. After lunch you drive further to the
south and visit Lake Abyata; a haven for pelicans and flamingos. Lake Langano is also, only a few kilometers away. You will
enjoy the long beach and more bird life. Overnight in a hotel.
Day 2:
After breakfast take some more time to enjoy the beach and drive back to Addis.
AWASSA-WONDO-LANGANO 2-Day Tour
Day 1:
Drive south
of Addis into the Rift Valley at 160 km you will reach Lake Ziway where you will see a number of water bird species with some
of which are endemic. The islands in the lake are sites of midieval churches. You drive further south to reach Awassa town.
Visit fish market at Lake Awassa. Overnight in a hotel.
Day
2:
Drive back to Wondo Genet where therapeutic hot springs make it an ideal place to bathe. On your way back
to Addis visit Shala, Langano and Abyata Lakes.
