HISTORIC TOUR Itinerary

No historic tour to Ethiopia is complete without a visit to Lalibela, home of 11 rock hewn churches and one of the first places to be declared a World Heritage Site. Each church was cut into the stone more than 900 years ago.

Bahar Dar
On the Southern tip of Lake Tana sits the town of Bahar Dar. From this site you will travel to the source of the Blue Nile, Ethiopia's link to the ancient world, known as Blue Nile Falls or Tis Abay (water that smokes). A separate boat trip will bring you to many island monasteries.
